Thank you for being on this journey with me

On June 8th, the results of the runoff election for Dallas City Council District 9 came in and unfortunately they weren't what we were expecting. We fell 377 votes short of winning. I want to congratulate Councilmember-Elect Paula Blackmon on her victory.

I want to thank you for your support since I first announced my candidacy. Together, with your time and your contributions, we not only made it to the runoff but we also got pretty darn close to winning.

I could choose to be upset about the result, but this campaign was never about me. It was about the community and the people like you that helped me run a race I could be proud of, regardless of the outcome. We engaged new voters into the political process and we stood up for the values that we believe in. My hope was that all constituents within District 9 would feel like their voices were being heard and I think this campaign helped do that.

We must all continue to be engaged and to help others be engaged. I will continue to stand beside you.

Thank you for everything,

"I personally believe that she will be the most thoughtful, reasoned voice into that distribution because she'll dig into the questions rather than be swayed by those who have always controlled the coin."
